So any help or guidance would be much appreciated. If need be I will probably just do a hard reset on everything with a fresh install of macOS, though I'd rather not. Now whilst this problem, isn't really a problem, given it doesn't affect anything, I would still like to be able to get to the bottom of this. (or something very simple and short like that, I only have the first one in front of me to copy accuratly). So I tried enabling the root user, logging in as it, and when i try to change the password, it again doesn't work and now simply says Contact your system administrator for help. To change the administrator password to a randomly generated value, run the following command. Your system administrator may not allow you to change your password or there was some other problem with your password. To change the administrator password to newpwd, run the following command: couchbase-cli reset-admin-password -new-password newpwd. However reseting it normally through User & Groups menu throws me an error message stating: It is an admin account, and the password is known to me. But now I am looking to change the password on my main, and only user account. I recently bought a second hand Macbook Pro 15" 2015, and besides some initial mistakes on my part from not being used to the OS, the system has been pretty perfect. Hello, I'm fairly new to macOS, so bare with me.
